Equine Therapy Services
  • Our Commitment to Your Horse & You:  Except for pre-event and post-event sessions at shows where sessions are kept to between 1/2 to one hour, the initial work-up for a new horse is extensive (1.5 - 2 hours).  It consists of a multi-step process including: data gathering including training and medical history, travel time, a postural and gait assessment on-site, full palpation of the horse's skeletal muscles, assessment of tack fit, application of hands-on therapy, case recording and issuance of a concise report of our findings for both client and veterinarian.  Follow-up sessions require less time but are equally documented and no less thorough.
  • Your Commitment to Your Horse & to Us as a New Client:  Muscle problems are commonly cumulative, developing over time.  Therefore, it is important to give "hands-on" Equine Therapy an adequate opportunity to work for the horse's benefit.  While we do not require full prepayment, we do require a three-session minimum commitment within a 30 calendar day period from all new clients on a pay-as-you-go basis.  Should the client fail to follow through or cancel one or more follow-up sessions, Horse Holistics reserves the right to bill and collect, and the client agrees to promptly pay at the then current session rate, as if service had been provided, an amount equal to the outstanding session(s).  Please note that this policy is irrespective of costs incurred as a result of referral to veterinary, equine chiropractic, podiatric, dental, saddle or other professionals for subsequent care, when deemed appropriate-in keeping with our policy of placing the animal's best interests first and foremost.
  • Working Together with Your Veterinarian:  More veterinarians are becoming familiar with the benefits of non-invasive, hands-on therapeutic modalities and we are happy to work closely with yours.  We recommend that you confer with your veterinarian to rule out contraindications prior to your horse receiving Equine Therapy. Only your veterinarian can make a diagnosis.  So when in doubt, contact your vet!
  • Rescheduling/Cancellations:  Please remember that we have reserved a special time to work with you and your horse (usually well in advance).  Though we will attempt to fill your horse's time in cases of cancellation/rescheduling on short notice, it is not always possible to do so. In cases where a substitute cannot be arranged and to avoid a $35.00 per session Cancellation Fee, please notify us by telephone (leaving a message) or by email, at least 48 hours in advance of your horse's scheduled appointment time.
  • Returned Checks:  A Returned Check Charge of $30.00 per item is applied in addition to any amounts owed for checks that are returned uncollected.  We only accept personal checks from our regular clients or paid in person at horse shows.
